And cold it is on top Mauna Kea at certain times of the year. The cache is not up there though. The beauty of this place is that when there is snow on Mauna Kea and there is a clear view, it is a perfect picture taking spot. Cars line up on both sides of the road to get a good picture. Otherwise, it is a great place for walking, jogging or bike riding. The wide shoulders of the road provide great parking and still plenty of room for those activities. Often lots of muggles, but for the most part they probably won't pay any attention to what you are doing. Still some stealth required. Be sure to replace cache as you found it, or better yet, hide it a little more!
