Geocache Description:

The stated coordinates are NOT for GZ. GZ is about 450 mtrs away. These are in fact where the old Capalaba Drive In Theatre once was. Back in the 1970's I used to come here with my girl friend, now my wife for 30+ years to watch a movie or 2. The last one we watched as I recall was a Monte Python comedy.

Further back in time, nearby to the above coordinates the first bridge across Tingalpa Creek was constructed. It was finished in 1874 & was a single lane bridge used up until 1935 when it was closed. The bridge linked Brisbane with Cleveland. Workers constructed the Bridge at low tide when the rocks were exposed to build the foundations. You will see the rock walls on the edge of the creek and also some of the original foundations at low tide. Nearby is also a marked area that some of the original cobble stone road to the bridge is on view. The cache is an eclipse container. You can get to GZ x 2 ways. 1. From the above coordinates, take a bearing of 307.6813 for 452 metres. but be sure to be careful crossing the road and ONLY at traffic lights. This is a difficult task to keep to the bearing and distance and only use traffic lights. It is possible cause I did it to test. or 2. Solve this number puzzle. The result is in Decimal Degrees format. Cast your mind back to primary school. You may have learned this ancient number set from an ancient empire. To make it a little easier I have grouped them like this : S AA:BBBCC E DDD:EEEEF Where AA= XXVII BBB=DXVIII CC=LXXXIV DDD=CLIII EEEE=MDCCCLXXXI F = VI There is many a mobile App that should get this one out for you. Remember the result is in Decimal Degrees format. This is a high muggle area. Be watchful. Read the signs & enjoy the history. Make sure you stroll down the dirt track nearby to the creek and have a look yourself. 10/6/2020 - This seems to be a high ant infestation area so beware there may some critters trying to make a home. Usually just black ants so they are more a pest than a danger. Just a warning that all.
