Geocache Description:

WARNING: The above coordinates are parking coordinates only! You will need to read the entire cache description in order to find and log this cache!

This is a two-step microcache with a twist.

I wish I could tell you that the cache location is scenic and beautiful, but it's not! That's the whole point of this cache. This cache is hidden on the largest piece of wetland habitat associated with the White River in Marion County. It is important for us to realize the importance of these kinds of areas.

This area is near and dear to me because it is the site for my senior undergraduate research project in Biology. It is also the site for the Lilly Arbor Project. It's a project designed to return this area to its natural forested state. So, give it a few years, and we will be able to say that the area is beautiful!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Plan at least an hour to find and log this cache.

Park at the above coordinates, and walk to 39* 46.448 N 86*10.221W. Enter the building. It is open 7 days a week, during normal daytime hours (7am-9pm). Take the stairs down to the basement, and find the large set of grey metal lockers. (Not the small set that you'll see right away). Find locker #291, and open it. (Oh yeah, you'll need the combination). It's a green/silver masterlock, combination 30-00-14. Inside the locker, you'll find the necessary supplies and information to complete your mission.

P.S. So long as you don't plan on parking here all day, you shouldn't have to worry about not having a permit for the lot. Just make sure you park near the big lonely tree, and it shouldn't be a problem. After you complete step 1 and get the coordinates for the actual cache site, you'll want to drive a bit closer. There's plenty of unrestricted parking near the site!

P.S.S. If you'd like more information on happenings in this area, including scheduled clean-ups, ongoing research, or results, please e-mail me (Metagirrl@hotmail.com), or go to www.cees.iupui.edu
