Super Bowl XXVII was played on January 31, 1993 at the Rose Bowl
in Pasadena, California pitting the NFC Champion Dallas Cowboys vs.
the AFC Champion Buffalo Bills. The Bills became the first team to
lose three consecutive Super Bowls, and just the second team to
play in three straight (the Miami Dolphins played in Super Bowls
VI-VIII, winning VII and VIII). This is also the first time that
three teams from the same division have each won a Super Bowl
within one year of each other (The Cowboys NFC East rivals, the New
York Giants and the Washington Redskins won the previous two Super
Bowls XXV and XXVI respectively).
