After hiking the awesome trail system at Holton Lake and searching for geocaches on New Years Eve Day (+ spotting 2 bald eagles), the sun was starting to set. Wanted to get back to Topeka and catch a Topeka Roadrunners hockey game. Decided that I had just enough time to scout out a potential hiding spot for a cache in this cemetery.
Upon arrival at cemetery and cruising the area, really did not see anything promising. Was about to exit the area and just happened to notice a good enough spot - nothing fancy.
Cemetery is located west of Holton, KS, on KS Hwy 16. Should be a quick and easy find.
Cache container that you will be searching for is a small new style tube-type container.
May be a bit difficult to retrieve, but not THAT difficult.
As with all cemeteries, please observe any/all rules/regulations that may be posted and that we all have read on other page write-ups.
UPDATE: March 14, 2015 - Visited site today. Original container rusted shut and everything inside covered in rust. Had to use a hammer to open. Replaced container/log. Same coordinates, updated page write-up.
By the way, the Topeka Roadrunners defeated the Springfield JR Blues by a score of 3-0.
