This is one of the two roads that once led across the Suda swamp. One way was starting near Sauliesi. The second was starting near Purlauru house: this route went from Kartuzu estate through Purlauru house straight across the swamp and on to Ligatne-Nitaures road. In between First world war and Second world war, the swamp road was created and reinforced with wooden sleepers. Thus, people, or horses with a cart, if necessary, could quickly and safely move accorss the swamp.
During World War II, the end of September 1944, during battle near More the Soviet Army used this route for troops and tanks to try to cross the Suda swamp. Evidences about fights extremely large number entrenchments and aviation bomb holes in the ground.
Currently sleepers have almost fully sunk into the marsh and are almost no longer visible. More information on defense battles near More can be obtained in More War Museum.
By visiting this hiding place, I can not guarantee that the surrounding neighbors homes will be delighted with your hike near their homes. Therefore T = 4 *, as I recommend to approach the hiding place from the forrest or swamp and quietly move at least 500m from homed through the forests, ditches, etc., or along the coast of river Suda. If you will do so, you will be able to feel like the Latvian Division soldiers, who went 20 or 25 km at night. Of course, you can take risks if you want, and park the car within 2km from cache - but - I have warned you about the possible consequences! :) The road through the forest: about 5km in one direction, along the road about 3 km one way (but then you risk running from dogs and quite unhappy rural aborigenes).

Šis ir viens no 2 celiem, kas kadreiz veda pari Sudas purvam. Viens celš bija pie Sauliešu majam. Otrs bija pie Purlauru majam: šis celš gaja no Kartužu muižas, caur Purlauru majam taisni pari purvam un talak uz Ligatnes-Nitaures celu. Laika aptuveni starp Pirmo pasaule karu un Otro pasaules karu, šis purva celš tika izveidots un nostiprinats ar koka gulšniem. Tadejadi cilveki, vai ari zirgi ar ratiem vajadzibas gadijuma vareja atri un droši tikt pari purvam.
Otra pasaules kara laika, 1944.gada Septembra beigas, Mores Kauju laika, Padomu Savienibas armija šo celu izmantoja, lai karaviri un tanki meginatu škersot Sudas purvu, kurš no Mores puses bija nocietinats ar Latviešu 19.grenadieru divizijas pozicijam. Par sivajam kaujam ši purva gulšnu cela apkartne liecina arkartigi daudzie ierakumi un aviacijas bumbu izplestas bedres.
Šobrid gulšni iegrimuši purva un gandriz vairs nav redzami. Vairak par Mores kaujam un aizstavibas cinam informaciju iespejams iegut Mores kara muzeja.
Apmeklejot šo slepni, nevaru garantet, ka apkartejo maju kaimini bus sajusma par jusu staigašanu. Tapec T=4*, jo rekomendeju slepni nemt, izvairoties no asinskarajiem suniem => jums bus jalavas klusi un >500m no majam pa mežiem, gravjiem utt, vai ari gar Sudas krastiem, lidz noklusiet pie slepna. Varesiet sajusties ka tie Latviešu divizijas karaviri, kas nakti nogaja 20....25km, lidz pret rita gaismu nostiprinajas kartejas pozicijas. Protams, var risket, un ar auto piebraukt 2km attaluma - bet - es esmu jus bridinajis par iespejamam sekam!! :) Celš pa mežu: ap 5km viena virziena, pa celu ap 3km viena virziena (bet tad jus riskejat ar suniem un nelaimigiem lauku onkam).
