It only occurs once every four years, and many cachers still need this day for their caching calendars. What better day for an event to celebrate both looking and leaping?
Optional games and activities will be available, but the main focus will be visiting with fellow cachers ... a great opportunity to catch up with folks you haven't seen over the winter, or put faces to names you may have only seen in logs before. Please bring your trackables to be traded or "discovered". Light refreshments will be provided by teamajk and cheryyll.
It sounds like several local cachers are planning to put out new caches in honor of the occasion, and door prizes and raffles are still being planned. Donated items so far include a variety of cache containers and trackables, including a limited edition Wooden Nickel Leap Day Geocoin (thanks, matthew1217!), and a complete set of coordinates for the 2011 PIE puzzle cache series.
If anyone else is interested in donating a raffle item please feel free to bring it with you when you come.
The event is free and open to all, but donations of a dollar or two will be gratefully accepted to offet the cost of the room. We will be in the Sciencenter Community Room; note that the actual museum closes at 5:00 and will not be open during the event.
