Geocache Description:

Fairly quick and easy multi bringing you to a wonderful mural that I have passed every day since starting a new job. The terrain is wheelchair accessible, the only thing that might not be accessible from a chair is the elevation of the hide, let me know if its not.

"These are women who have made and are making history in Portland, OR. As their lives and careers continue, their stories will grow." ~Robin Corbo (mural artist)

B = # of miles (in hundred thousands) that Joy Farmer has ridden on her motorcycle.

C = # of letters in the sign held by Gretchen Kafoury when she protested the exclusion of women in the City Club of Portland in the '70s.

D = # (use only the last digit) of letters in the word sitting on the shoulder of Clara Peoples. She brought this celebration to Portland which commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States.

E = # (-1) of deer next to Anne Berblinger. She was the Oregon representative for the U.S. Economic Development Administration from July of 1983 until she retired in spring of 2007.

F = # of people shown in the depiction of K.D. Parman & Jeana Frazzini's family. They successfully challenged Oregon laws that denied Frazzini’s parental rights to their sons. A Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge ruled that the two Oregon statutes that give parental rights to married couples and their children unconstitutionally discriminated against Parman and Frazzini as same-sex parents.

H = # of kids around Vickie Chamberlain (in front & next to her). She is the Board Chair of the Oregon Council for Hispanic Advancement and the Chief Executive Officer of Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, working to create an equitable learning environment for all students by creating culturally inclusive classrooms.

I = # (+2) of women who make up the administration for Sisters In Action for Power, an inter-generational, multi-racial, community-based organization that works with low income women and girls of color.

J = # (+1) of masks with Lillian Pitt. She is one of the indigenous people of the Columbia River Gorge and is known as a great innovator within her tradition. As a visual artist she has chosen to work in clay using Asian techniques like raku and anagama in addition to working with a wide variety of materials.
