Use extreme stealth at final during events at the fairgrounds.
Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega, WI. Final is a few blocks away so multi can be completed in 15 minutes or less. Approx. 3" X 6" X 2" box - small swag and trackables. Terrain more difficult during winter. During winter, in between events, may not be stroller or wheelchair accessible if not plowed.

Civil War NCO - Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega, Wisconsin
Will NOT be available
during large activities at the county fairgrounds due to proximity.
The purpose of this cache is "in memory" of the very first cache I found when I first started caching. My first found cache was part of the WSQ 900 Cemetery Quest series by Marc_54140 (WSQ = Wisconsin Spirit Quest). All of them can be found in this bookmark: WSQ 900. Additionally, Mark_54140 maintains another cemetery list in this bookmark: Cemetery, WI

The original cache GC1G2NB was placed by Marc_54140 on 9/7/08 and archived by him on 6/11/11. This was my very first found cache, however, I was too late to adopt it before it was archived. The purpose of the series is to heighten your awareness of the many aspects of public expression found in cemeteries. These expressions take many different religious, ethnic and cultural forms, and over the generations change their emphasis. Some older ones are experiencing a renewal, and new ones are in the process of becoming common.

An NCO is a Non Commissioned Officer. Generally a Corporal or Sergeant. Use google for more information if needed.

To log this cache .....
1. The reason for the series is for you to 'find' an example of the subject for each cache as this activity in intended to enhance your experience.

2. There is a cache container to be found. It is NOT at the posted coordinates, however, you must retrieve information from these coordinates to find the final. The final is within a few blocks and the multi can be completed in 15 minutes or less

3. Very near the posted coordinates, you will find the final resting place of a Civil War NCO. You MUST write down the last 3 numbers of the year of death of Corporal Henry Crane to gain access to the final. Once at GZ of the final, you will understand the need for this number.

4. To locate the final, the North coordinates are 44 ##.##5 where ## ## is 55 added to Henry's year of birth. The West coordinates are 088 55.4## where ## is 3 plus the last 2 digits of Henry's year of death.

5. Yes... you can drive right up to the final. That's used as an event parking area.
6. Please return the cache as found and reset the numbered item to different #'s after you close it.

7. Feel free to upload a picture with your log. Either Corporal Henry Crane's monument or that of one of his nearby comrades. There are 63 Civil War veterans resting in this section of the cemetery including privates, NCO's and officers: Weyauwega Oakwood Cemetery Civil War Soldiers

This cache was rattled and poked early Sunday morning by Rattledbox and Pokajen. Congrats on co-FTF!
