Look for a level site to pull off the road. Visitors welcome - keep gate closed and do not disturb the wall ruins. Cache is outside on fence line in case it is too muddy to go inside. Land was part of the original Aztec Land and Cattle Company.
This was the site of one of the four original Mormon settlements in the area. Founded by George Lake in 1876 and abandoned in 1877 due to poor soil. It was also known as Lake's Camp. According to the Church News published by the Church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ, this was the site of the first church-sponsored school in Arizona.
