Geocache Description:

This series is placed in pretty woodland near my home, where I walk my dog most days. This cache is a nice starter one-and designed to let you get your breathe back as it is quite hilly around here. **PLEASE NOTE In each container there is a letter and number to collect so that you can solve the puzzle-and find the last container.

The footpaths are good but can get muddy. The only downside is the traffic noise from the nearby road which gets less noticable as you go into the woods. Parking is available on the nearby roads although it can get a bit busy when there are lots of visitors at the Museum-a branch of the Natural History Museum and well worth a visit whilst you are in the area. Tring is a small market town-with plenty of cafes and restaurants. Stubbing's Wood is owned by Dacorum Borough Council and the caches are placed with permission of the Woodland Officer. Take time here to look out over the town-and towards Ashridge Woods owned by the National Trust. Also good views over the Vale of Aylesbury and Ivinghoe Beacon where the Ridgeway Long Distance Path ends. As you go on up the hill the views get better too. ****PLEASE NOTE- the new owners of the field(The Woodland Trust) recently mended the fence and tidied up the area removing the old stile. As I'm not sure what other changes they will be making I'm leaving the cache where it is-sorry it's a bit boring -for the time being.
