***Congrats to Wingit and Essex-gal for FTF*** In Higganum, off Rt. 81 and Dish Mill Rd.; look for the boat launch sign on Rt. 81. Open dawn to dusk. Short walk for both stages.
Welcome to Higganum Reservoir State Park. According to the DEEP web site, it consists of 147 acres along the shore of the reservoir and extend to the other side of Route 9. I discovered this spot after doing Fire Fighter Skippy’s new cache down the road. Not only is there a nice launch site here to get out on the water, there is an extra treat in store for you, which is why I made it a multicache. It looks to me like an old mill site, but I couldn’t find any information on this particular area at the Haddam Historical Society web site. The final container is concealed very well to reduce the chance of muggles finding it; please rehide it as found because I’m sure locals frequent this area. As always, enjoy the journey!
