This is the wonderful Watson Park. This is a very dear place to those of us who were children in this neighborhood many years ago. The little section of forest on the South side of the path once had little trails where we all used to play tag amongst the cedars. The swamp on the Northwest side of the path is where we all used to catch frogs and tadpoles. One winter the swamp flooded and before it could drain there was a severe cold snap that lasted for a week or two, creating a layer of ice that was thick enough for us to safely skate and play on.
I have so many wonderful memories in this place and now that it has been declared a park, you can also create your own wonderful memories here. Cache is filled with creepy crawly critters, just like the kind that we used to find in this swamp.
