Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

[green]Most problems can be solved with good communication so reply back to the reviewer and we will do everything possible within the guidelines to get your cache published. It is best to give me as much information as possible instead of saying nothing at all. This will speed up the process and we can get your cache published. [/green]

Geocache Description:

An early photograph of the Ferguson Depot which today still stands alongside the train tracks as the Whistle Stop Depot, a museum/custard shop. (photo from Historic Ferguson)
FERGUSON, MISSOURI

In 1845, Ohio born William B. Ferguson purchased a 177 acre tract of land 12 miles northwest of St. Louis amidst the most beautiful land he'd ever seen. In the 1850s, the North Missouri Railroad contracted with Ferguson for a right-of-way through his property. In return, the Railroad agreed to make a stop, put up a depot and call it Ferguson Station. This depot became a hub from which the city grew and prospered.

Today Ferguson is a thriving, diverse community which still maintains its small town charm although it is only minutes from Lambert International Airport and downtown St. Louis.  Recently, Ferguson has made national news as an innovator in healthy, walkable, bikable communities with its acclaimed Live Well Ferguson programs, award winning Farmers Market, and fun Citywalk area.  Ferguson is quickly becoming the place to be "just north of ordinary."

HUDSON PARK GEOCACHE

You are looking for a large plastic lock-n-lock box with a log and lots of goodies for the kids.  Please don't take the pencil!  I've included one trackable travel bug.  The cache is next to the paved trail, no bushwacking necessary. There is a parking lot next to the park off of College Drive. However the paved trail where the cache is located is not accessible by wheelchair from the parking lot. The paved trail connects to College Drive north of the parking lot down the hill (across from the Target Practice area) and I believe you can park along the street to be able to access the trail from the road by wheelchair.

I've tried a couple of times now to refine these coordinates but it seems that they're still slightly off. I'll try again but in the meantime I've beefed up the hint a bit so be warned, it's more of a spoiler now.

Please look for my other geocaches in wonderful Ferguson Parks.  This geocache was placed with the cooperation of Ferguson City and Ferguson Parks Administration.

FTF Congrats to SHMama!
