*gln: ARCHIVING ABANDONED CACHE

Greetings stlhiker,

Looks like our timing is off and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't any maintenance here in a very long time, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.
CACHE ARCHIVAL IS PERMANENT.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

This is cache is located at some neat overhangs in West Tyson Park. It's a green pill bottle hidden in the rocks, the hill near the cache is very steep so be prepared for a rugged off trail adventure

After finding Tyson Cascades http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCT17J, I went exploring farther down the valley. Along the way, I discovered this neat set of 3 overhangs in the cliffs. This is one of the most remote parts of Tyson and it's fun to explore back here where there no trails or people. To access the cache, you can follow the ridge from Indian Mines http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=e9c198cd-df0b-4e5f-ab48-68a9e134e14e and then hike down to the cache. This is the more scenic, challenging way. The last 50 feet to the cache are very steep through the cliff band so be VERY careful. The fallen leaves make this area slippery so be careful and take your time. Remember you still have to climb back up to the ridge after finding the cache. The second, easier way would involve hiking through the prairie trails from the parking on Allen Road at the RR tracks and then bushwhacking up the creek valley and then climbing up to the cache. This way would be much easier until the final climb to the cache.
