Having only just discovered this track, despite Angel living here for a very long time, we thought this would be a great place to hide a cache. Thoroughly enjoyed this wee hike. The name came from Demon as it brought back memories of his Grand Canyon trip back in the day.
Do take note of the difficulty ratings... going to the cache is a plod but the return is the slog, Angel repeatly asking, "Where's my donkey?"
An alternative starting point which we have nicknamed "Demons' Shortcut, LMAO!!!" is found at co-ordinates S 39° 41.784 E 176° 54.518 A very interesting alternative route, we almost killed the dog doing it this way... but if you are looking for a great way to 'stretch' your legs, this is it!
The cache spot is a great place to take a blanket with a scrummy picnic, good open space, with a fantastic veiw. Would be the ideal way to carb load for the hike back. Although we managed to do the (from original starting point)return trip back from cache site in less than 15 mins.
