LSP Permit #58

The start of this cache holds a very special place in my heart and to tell the story, my daughter Miranda Lynn Fuller wrote the following poem to tell the tale of the events of that day 34 years ago.

Inspiration Point - Happily Ever After

To have a Happily Ever After is a hope that fills every little girls heart,

and my story is no different let me tell you where it starts …

I sit waiting for my Prince Charming to come take me away,

because today is very special, it is Valentine’s Day.

I knew he had planned something romantic, but what was in store,

so I sit waiting to hear his familiar knocking at my door.

I see his car pull up, and soon we were on our way,

but to where, I did not know on this cold, wintery, Valentine’s Day.

We arrive to a familiar park, one we have been too many times before,

where I have walked the trails hand in hand with the man I have come to adore.

We drove past the Archery Field where we have enjoyed many dates,

shooting arrows, or having picnics with my true soul mate.

But today was not a day where one would be enjoying the outdoors,

snow covered all the trails and there was a chill that went right through your core.

So here I sit in the car, just my true love and me,

waiting and wondering what his intentions may be.

He looks over at me with only loving eyes,

as we pull in to a parking-lot of an overlook where inspiration dances in the sky.

He asks me to leave the car to come take in the beautiful sights,

as hesitant as I may be, because of the cold I agree and say “alright”.

As we arrive at our destination he turned to me,

and started speaking the most loving words of hope and destiny.

I was taken by surprise and my heart skipped a beat

when he lowered to the ground to just one knee.

He then asked the question, “will you marry me?”

I told him to get up before someone would see.

But of course I said “yes”, my Happily Ever After was finally here,

my heart full of love, and my eyes holding back tears.

We then returned to the car to celebrate with a glass of wine,

my dreams have come true, my Prince Charming will always be mine.

When I think about that day I realize that there couldn’t have been a more inspiring place in Letchworth Park to make one of life’s biggest decisions. Inspiration Point is a very special place and many people both young and old have been “Inspired” and found romance here. Now 34 years later Paleoman52 and I are still on our life’s journey together and we owe it all to a special moment, at a very special place for our continuing life together.

Now on to the cache! At the first leg, you will find yourself in an area that is usually loaded with muggles admiring the view. The coordinates you seek are very well hidden and extreme stealth must be observed. Please be sure that muggles do not see you finding these coordinates or they will probably disappear once you have left. After you have found the coordinates, you will be treated to a very nice walk to the final. There are 2 ways to get there. One is a very scenic walk along the top edge of the gorge, and the other is more of a woods walk where a power line passes through the forest. I highly suggest the scenic route along the gorge. If you choose the gorge trail, walk along the trail until the GPS counts down and you are in line with the final, then turn left off the trail and hike through the woods to get to the final location. At this location there are many possibilities where a small container could be hiding. Please be sure to hide this back in place very well and to use natural camouflage if necessary, thanks!

I wish to express my thanks to Park Manager Roland Beck for reviewing and approving this cache!
