CAUSE THAT’S THE WAY THE TEDDY BEARS HAVE THEIR PICNIC!
Cachers, we are planning a Teddy Bear Picnic, and you are invited. The shy and illusive Teddy Bears are the only ones who know where the picnic basket is, so to get the clues as to where these teddies have stashed the basket, you are just going to have to go Teddy hunting.
The picnic will be on the shores of Boomerang lake which is located on Island Timberlands property.
Island Timberlands allows public access, however they do require you to apply for an access permit from the gatekeeper when entering at the posted gate coords. It does take a few moments to process, so please have patience. This permit is free and just informs the company who is on their land and makes the holder aware of conditions of entry. Island Timberland's management and the gatekeeper are aware that this event is planned and of the cache placements. A map of the road system is also free and available from the gatekeeper.
Since there is no cell or internet service available in the area, the caches will be published on Friday, the day before the event to allow you to gather the information needed.
Access is also available from other locations but most require 4 X 4 or coming in from a much further point. We recommend that you enter at the gate as the caches leading to the event are most likely starting here. Also, the road is much more favorable for all vehicle types from this gate.
We will supply the hot dogs, but if you can, please bring something to share to add to the lunch which will be at noon at the lake. We are not planning a gift draw, as the gift each cacher will receive will be the fun of the play, the accumulation of smilies handed out by the many teddy bears and the socializing at the picnic!! Be prepared to have a lot fun!
