Geocache Description:

Enjoy walking the nature trail to the west while overhead, aircraft landing gear scrapes your scalp.

They used to let radio controlled gliders fly off the bluff, but sadly, no more. Probably afraid they would get sucked up into the turbofans of passing jets - not a pleasant thought...

DO NOT let young children cross the tracks - there is a mighty long drop on the other side!

Be discreet in finding this one. Cover with natural ground cover when through. The area is quite popular to park, hang out and get your ears blasted and your ribcage shook by the big jets.

Cache contents:

  • Janes U.S.Navy Fighters '97 flight simulation software cd- rom (full version - for PC).
  • 6 different World War II fighter plane postcards (1 per cacher, please)
  • 1 die-cast metal F-111 fighter
  • 1 plastic "Super Fleet" 747-400 and Stealth fighter pack
  • Log book with writing instruments
  • Info sheet
I will also seed this cache from time to time with cd-rom freeware copies of flight simulator add-on programs to keep the aviation theme alive.
