March 26th - HMCS OTTER (Armed Yacht) was destroyed by an accidental explosion and fire off Halifax. 19 lost.
September 19th - HMCS LEVIS (Flower Class Corvette) - Torpedoed by U74 off of Greenland...18 lost.
December 7th - HMCS WINDFLOWER (Flower Class Corvette) was lost while escorting convey SC.58. Rammed by Dutch freighter in dense fog off the Grand Banks. 23 lost.
December 8th - Canada declares war on Japan (hours later the U.S. will also declare war on Japan)
