Geocache Description:

Should be an easy park and grab. Cache is a small container camo'd for its location. It's kind of a tight fit, so you might have to fiddle with it some to get it out. Cache contains a log only, so BYOP.

One of the great things we enjoy living in the Ozarks are the many clear running streams and branches that serve to drain the rocky hills and valleys.

The routes of most of the early trails here were dictated by where you could most easily cross these streams. As these trails became roads, many of these crossings had simple cement slabs or ground level bridges constructed to make the crossings more permanent and easier to maintain.

During fair weather when the water is low, these bridges make for an easy crossing. After several inches of rain though, these sedate streams can become a raging torrent capable of carrying away trees and livestock, and the occasional car or truck that ignored the "Impassable During High Water" sign.

Like most of the bridges around the area, it is named for the family that farms the valley the stream runs through.
