Geocache Description:

Event is Canceled because of the weather!
The YMCA is closing the building due to the Weather!
This is an Event Cache!

If I get enough people interested in having a class on HTML Codes I will reschedule this event for a couple weeks from now, I will keep everything the same including the 4 caches that were published this morning and the puzzle and the prize that go along with them!

Just post a Note to the Cache page if you would be willing to attend if I reschedule. I will decide by the amount of interest there is.

The only thing that I will change is I will hold it on a Saturday afternoon!

WCD

What: A Meet and Greet and a short class on using HTML Codes to dress up your Cache description pages.

Where: The YMCA of the Northwoods, 2003 Winnebago St. Rhinelander.

When: Wednesday February 29, 2012.

Time: 7pm to 8:30 pm

During the past several Months we have had a lot of New Geocachers in Rhinelander area.
This will be a Great time for the cachers in the area
to put a Face with a name that they see on Cache logs.

There will be a table set up for trading and discovering trackables.

Groundspeak will be giving out a new Souvenir to all cachers that log a cache on Leap Day, February 29th. By attending this event cache you will be able to earn that Souvenir.

I have had a lot of fun and met a lot of Really nice people thanks to this game we call Geocaching!

I have also done some really silly things because of Geocaching, like wearing the Silly Glasses as you are requested to do while signing the log at Gas Line Ridge.

I have been asked many times how to put a picture on a cache page, I have found out it is easier to show than to explain so I will give a short demonstration on using the basic HTML codes to dress up your Cache Description pages.

Keep checking back to this description page often as I will update it as the event gets closer.

I look forward to seeing everyone there.

I Received a Dozen Trackables in the Mail today for Door Prizes, I'm Excited to host my First Event!

I am also working on another angle for this event. I have the idea, now I have to refine it! It has something to do with finding some caches!

Stay Tuned and check back often for updates!

~~~UPDATE~~February 13th~~~
This last week I received more Door Prizes in the Mail. I have also continued with the plans for new caches. If everything goes according to plan there will be some new caches to find on Wednesday February 29th. With the new caches there will be a small puzzle that will go along with the caches. Everyone who finds the caches and solves the puzzle will be in the drawing for a prize. Only the cachers that find and solve these caches will be in that drawing.
Check back often to keep up with the updates.
When I do an update I will also write a note log so if you put a watch on this cache you will get an e-mail about the update.
~Update~~February 20th~
It's Monday, time for an update!
I have found the locations for the 4 caches, gotten all the proper permissions, taken the coordinates, prepared the containers, written the cache description pages, submitted them for review and have had them approved.
The 4 Caches will be Published on Wednesday February 29th at about 7:00 am. The caches will have clues for a small simple puzzle.
I think that Mystery is what keeps us interested in new things, some people call it "Discovery".
There is 1 more Monday before the event, on Monday February 27th there will be one more update. At that update I will explain the puzzle that is involved with these 4 caches.
Keep checking back, if I have something new to announce I will do another update before next Monday!
~~~Update~~Monday, February 27th~~~

This is the last Monday before the event,

Everything is pretty much set, (Except the weather forecast)
There are 4 caches that are set up to be published at about 7:00 am Wednesday morning, the 4 caches will each contain a clue to a word puzzle, the clue will be a letter.

The 4 caches will each contain a letter, the letter will be in the ROT13 cypher, the same cypher that geocaching.com uses for scrambling the hints. (www.rot13.com). Find the caches, get the letters, decrypt the letters to come up with a 4 letter word.

When you attend the "Leap" into HTML Codes event on Wednesday evening bring the 4 letter word with you. Everyone with the 4 letter word will be in a drawing for a Diamond Willow Staff with a Hand Carved Woodspirit by WoodCarverDan, the staff is also trackable on geocaching.com.(after the winner registers it)

There will be door prizes for everyone that comes to the event, there will also be a door prize for everyone that plays the Friendship Bingo.

I'm excited to host this event!

I know the weather forecast is not good but the event will go on!
