Geocache Description:

SDSQ = South Dakota Spirit Quest. It is a heading used on many caches in other states that deal with Cemeteries. This cache is placed with utmost respect for the area.

Saint Onge Cemetery was originally 2 separate cemeteries, "Gate of Heaven Cemetery" and "Sunset Cemetery". The land this cemetery originally belonged to was Adolph Furois, who was a well known resident of this area (1886 - 1954). He gave the north part of this property to the Catholics, and sold the south half to the protestants for $18. They were later combined into one cemetery, now known as Saint Onge Cemetery.

This is a very well maintained cemetery, about a mile south of Saint Onge. There are approximately 430 internments here, many dating prior to the turn of the century.

You do not have to enter the cemetery grounds to find the cache. If a service is in progress, or if there is someone here maintaining a grave site, please come back at a later time. If you do chose to visit the cemetery, please pay due respect and do not disturb any of the markers or headstones. Follow any and all posted cemetery regulations. Most importantly, do NOT look for this cache after dark.

You are looking for a nano in an obvious location. Bring your own writing stick as there isn't one in the cache. You may need a TOTT to extract the log from the cache. Please return the cache exactly as found, making sure it remains well-hidden.

As with all of our caches, enjoy the area, be safe and have fun.
