Geocache Description:

This is a camo'd pill bottle.

Parking is best along the street in front of the cemetery sign, or perhaps a bit west of that as this an intersection. You'd be surprised how many people zip on through here. The neighbors have a black barking dog, but he quiets down and watches you from behind the fence. Rupert2 had a cache here, and the following is information he gathered for it. It was cache GCN0GJ.
Enjoy! go-purdue

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST

The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In less than a year, the quest has grown to over a hundred thirty caches hidden in thirteen Indiana counties, and the hiders have grown to five cacher teams, four of which are comprised of A Man and His Dog... PRAIRIEPARTNERS has set a record for one-day ISQ finds on 10-16-2004 at 55! 125 cacher teams have logged over 1,700 finds.

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST #133

”Indianhead Lake Overlook"

Welcome to the Barlow Cemetery, Washington Township, Hendricks County.  Access is a challenge so pay close attention to the instructions below. This cemetery has some of the oldest graves I have encountered to date within Hendricks County, dating back to 1820. The site is high on a hill overlooking Indianhead Lake.

The stones are well weathered and extremely difficult to read. I had to confirm dates through county records.

I REQUEST THAT YOU DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE AT NIGHT! Access to the site is in the intersection of CR 150 N and CR 600 E. You may want to drive by several times to view the parking situation. PARK DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE CEMETERY SIGN. There is no lot but just enough room to pull off the road safely, despite being in the intersection (beware of the stormwater culvert). Parking and ingress/egress is ALMOST directly in front of a residence. Please be respectful of their property and presence. Do not park at the homeowner's association park just north of the cemetery. This is a private park and you cannot access the cemetery from this location due to a fence (I tried). The cache container is a camo'd pill bottle.  Please leave it at least as well concealed, if not better, than you found it. BYOP.  If you find the coordinates to be a little off, do not hesitate to post a waypoint with your log.  There are US flags decorating graves of veterans.  Bring a new flag or two and replace the weathered flags as appropriate. As always, be respectful, and cache in, trash out.

WARNING:  FIND LOGS ON THIS CACHE THAT INDICATE NIGHT CACHING WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTICE!

"Indiana Spirit Quest" is brought to you by The SixDogTeam, Kodiak Kid, THE SHADOW, Team Shydog and Rupert2.
