Federal Offense Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

jeffgamer: Left the house today at 1:30 pm to do a cache maintenance run on several caches that had reported issues...returned by around 5 pm.

MICROGAMER 4: Some Simply-Shaded SuperSized Stones -- First stop. Muggles playing nearby, so I figured I'd try again at the end of my run. But at the end of the run, parking lot was full and partying muggles were everywhere. I have the replacement cache ready, but have to wait until I can replace it in peace. Stay tuned....!

GAMER'S QUEST 7: To c0in a phrase -- Was ready to replace, but it's exactly where it's been for years. Cache with confidence!

The Imposter -- Cache is where it's always been, in great shape, dry log. No maintenance required. Cache with confidence!

(I Like That Old Time) Rock and Hole! -- Cache was lying in relatively plain sight (from the proper angle, that is) and was not in its designated host. Replaced the container with a more sturdy one, put in a new and dry log, and inserted cache back into its designated host. Cache is good to go!

Federal Offense -- Checked on this one and it's missing again. Since the location of the hide has always felt somewhat dubious to me (especially after a couple of other cachers expressed slight misgivings), I've decided to let this one remain missing and to archive it. Rest in peace, "Federal Offense". [:(]

Thank You! -- Cache was totally missing now. I've replaced it with a new container in the same spot. If it goes missing again fairly quickly, I'll assume the spot has been compromised by a perpetual vigilant / vigilante muggle and will relocate it, but, for now, it's where it's always been. Cache on!

Urban Fishing 6 -- The "ALLURE" of Urban Fishing -- jbean was correct...there's a sign of the original cache there, but the container itself is missing. I replaced the cache in the same spot, but better obscured. I didn't have the same type of container, but I made do with a partial version of it along with a bison tube. PLEASE make sure to replace it EXACTLY where it was, obscured from sight, so muggle fishermen don't spot it and remove it again. Cache with confidence!

That should do it for today!

Happy holidays, everyone, and cache on!

Geocache Description:

Had the idea for this concept-cache a few weeks back, went online and found a suitable hiding spot via Google. Today I happened to be passing that spot, so I just HAD to plant the cache.

This cache is called Federal Offense. It's a puzzle + offset cache. I promise, this is one of my easiest puzzle caches (and, no, the word "easy" is NOT in quotes!), so even most people with puzzle-cache phobias should hopefully get a sense of puzzle-cache satisfaction. The listed coordinates will bring you CLOSE to your goal, but not all the way there. The cache title is the clue as to the general location where you'll find the bison...figure out from your surroundings why I call this cache "Federal Offense" and you'll know the general search location (and you may also have the irresistable urge to either laugh or groan).

To figure out the EXACT location, visit the cache page for GC2JFEE, a geocache of the same title. Find NLretireEZ's post. Including all types of logs, which number post is it since that cache was first published? Once you know which post it is, go out and get that cache!

Have fun and cache on!
