EVENT
#2:
FISHING FOR
LEPRECHAUNS FLASHMOB
DATE/TIME:
March 17th at 4:30pm
(sharp)
THE
PLACE:
The Fountain on the
corner of
Central Ave &
Reserve St
Everyone knows what a
Flashmob is right? For those of you who may not, Wikipedia defines
a Flashmob as "a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public
place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for
a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of
entertainment and/or satire." The Geocaching community has adopted
Flashmobs as way to expand the diversity, the reach, & the fun
of attending GC events.
THE
PREMISE:
Everyone HAS to
bring a fishing pole & be dressed in as much Irish green &
fishing attire as possible (fishing hats, fishing vests, camo
shirts, waders, etc). Have your favorite micro cache tied to the
end of your line. Green bison tubes with sinkers in them would work
great, or use gold coins for bait. You can use real fishing poles,
or be as creative as you want designing a custom pole for the
occasion. This should go without saying, but no REAL hooks on
anyone's pole.
Be "in the general
area" about 5-10 mins before 4:30pm. You can stay in your cars or
be wandering around nearby until the last minute. But try not to
draw muggle attention until exactly 4:30pm.
On the signal, everyone rushes over to the fountain and begins
"Fishing for Leprechauns". Stand or sit, lawn chairs optional. The
idea is to act like we're sitting on the Shores of Inishmore trying
to catch the ever ellusive Aquatic Leprechaun.
After 10 mins, we'll
signal for everyone to gather & sign the event log & get a
group picture. As soon as you sign the log, disperse into the
atmosphere leaving all the muggles wondering what just
happened.
Note: If you're not
there
from 4:30pm to 4:45pm
you'll miss out on the fun!
If anyone has any questions & send me a PM
via GC.com or Facebook.
Everyone attending the Lucky Leprechaun Lunch
will also get a rundown of how the flashmob
works.
