MTGC - April 2012 - Cannon Cemetary Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

As part of my duties, I am archiving this cache as it has been over 30 days since the event occurred. From the Geocaching.com listing guidelines regarding event caches:

"After the event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks."

Thank you for taking the time to create and host this event, but it is time for the listing to be archived.

Geocache Description:

This Year's MTGC CITO will be cleaning up Cannon Revolutionary Cemetary near Kirkland.

we will start at 9am

The owner of the land is Bruce Pettey who granted permission for the CITO

Direction from US 840 at Triune, go 2 miles South and Taliaferro Road will be on your left, then go .7 miles to entrance to the work shop on your right,

go past the work shop and turn up the hill through the grass to the cemetery.

Tools that will be needed are as follows, one small lawn mover, one weed eater, one chainsaw to cut roots in the dirt, several picks and shovels to dig up roots of the vegetation.

Please bring a bag lunch, and work gloves. Bottled Water will be supplied by the club. It should only take a about five hours to make it look grand.

The owner said we can either add to his brush pile or make a new one, this means we will not have to carry anything away for disposal

If you can come for 5 minutes or 5 hours come on out and enjoy the company of other geocachers and help restore this cemetary to its original glory. If you are physically unable to assist in the cleanup come on out and help encourage the others with moral support.

In Case of a total rain out, we will have a raindate of May 5th 2012
