This is a walking/cycling trail(mountain bikes),please keep it that way.
This is truely a treasure that few outside of the local area know about.
The Hummocks Walking and Cycling Trail is a track that begins just on the outskirts of Bute and follows the closed railway line that meanders its way to Barunga Gap.Unfortunately it does not go all the way to Barunga Gap at this stage but finnishes at the boundry of the Barunga West Council.This track has come about because a number of locals thought that if other areas around this state can have a trail, why not Bute.
Each section(approx 500mt) is maintained by a family, group or individual and each of these sections has a name stake at the start of these sections.If there is a vehicle on the track it should only be from one of these people.There are at differant location some wonderful native orchids and lillies or local birdlife, marsupials even reptiles and snakes.
This cache is found about halfway along the second section.Please be careful of other users, Thankyou.
