The Silver River cache should be fairly easy to find although it will be a long walk.
Silver River State Park is new and is still under development, but the trails the Rangers have already put in are real nice. Ask for a trail map while you are at the Ranger Station.
In finding the cache, you will begin from the Museum parking lot and will actually have to walk 2 of the nature trails, the Swamp Trail then the River Trail. I recommend that after you get the coordinates for the second leg to the cache, that you start from the parking lot again. You do not have to walk through the swamp to get to the cache. (Oh yeah, it’s a neat museum check it out.)
The cache also has a theme, "Silver." The container is a 1-gallon “Silver” paint can, and everything placed in the can should have “Silver” in its name. Here is what the can will start off with:
- Silver River patch
- Silver River State Park Weather Button
- Silver River Museum patch
- Silver Springs photo book
- Silver Springs tokens (2)
- Silver Springs postcard
- Silver Certificate 1 dollar bill
- and of course a log book with a Silver pen
Have fun,
