Another easy cache placed along stage 1 of the new Greytown-Woodside Trail. This cache is placed at approximately halfway and should take you 15-20 mins at a leisurely stroll. The total distance of this walkway/cycleway is 2.4km and will bring you out at Woodside Road or Cotter Street depending at which end you start.
The trail follows the old Greytown to Woodside branch railway (1880 - 1953). It runs through farmland, stands of heritage trees and native plantings, with beautiful views of the Tararuas. The trail is apparently wheelchair accessible, however we felt that the stone they have used may be too coarse for wheelchairs. In the event that you do get your wheelchair here, you may need assistance to retrieve the cache. Dogs must be on a leash and it is unsuitable for horses and motorbikes.
The cache is a 200ml sistema in a camo bag. UPDATE Feb 2022: Now a small mint container. Please re-hide it exactly where you found it and bring your own pen.
As usual please watch out for muggles who might also be using the path.
