There are two approaches to this cache which I refer to as "Easy"
and "Scenic", although neither is at all strenuous. For the easy
route, take I90 exit 44 and go 1/4 mile NW on the service road to
Little Elk Creek Road, turn west and go approx. 1 3/4 mile to
parking area at dead end N44*14.631 W103*25.750. Scenic route
begins at Dalton Lake, follow Little Elk Creek from the spillway to
parking area at N44*14.189 W103*27.980. The cache is located near
an impressive rock formation known as White Gate, a huge notch in
the canyon formation which the creek flows through. Most maps show
a maintained road through this canyon but the road was obliterated
in the 1972 flood and never rebuilt.
Cache contains: 2 Paperback Books, Plastic Slinky, Pkg of
Throwing Darts, 4 AA Batteries, Mini Tool Kit, 2 Litter Bags,
Magnifying Glass, Flashing Ball, Camera & Log Book.
