Geocache Description:

What is after Loana?

This sculpture was made from left over scrap from the manufacture of oil well perforation equipment at Titan Specialties on the west side of Pampa. The parts were cut out of steel with a laser and Mr. Smith hauled buckets of them to the school for the students to weld.
The surrounding rocks are from the Alibates flint quarry about 50 miles west of Pampa. The unique colorful material was mined and processed for use and trade in ancient times and is called North Americas oldest industry. It’s use dates back 10,000 years and has been found many hundreds of miles away. The site is a national monument and has onsite tours.

Good parking is available at the two businesses just to the West and a good concrete foot and bike path takes you right to the place.
We have included Blackbeard's Dubloon travel bug and the first to find gets a gold Dubloon swag coin.
