This cache is in the same neighborhood as it's extinct predecessor, however a little farther removed from the beaten track hopefully. Again, the trails are offshoots of the Fairfax Cross-County Trail - Accotink Run section. Although both sections are near residential housing they are quite heavily treed and may not be easily accessible depending on how you decide to approach.
The first leg when found will provide the coordinates for the second - nothing more, nothing less. There is no log and nothing to trade so please only enter a found log upon location of the second leg.
The cache is a green 7.62mm ammo box. Inside are an assortment of cars, trucks and other vehicles, and the logbook.
There are several alternatives to getting into the general vicinity, I'll let you choose your own. Be aware that the two locations are less than a 1/2 mile apart so depending on your choice of parking you should not have to ride in between. Shorter approaches are available to both legs however remember shorter is not always easier. There is the potential to cross two streams at a few locations, some quite simple, some not. Therefore it is important to be aware which side you are on. This has some degree of terrain and both leg's paths can lead to fairly large bluffs.
New note: Based on the difficulty recent logs have shown, I upgraded the difficulty and terrain to reflect the changing of the seasons. Also modified the clue a bit.
I was surprised at the amount of wildlife in this urban area. Saw three deer and several species of birds while scouting the area out. Enjoy!
