Geocache Description:

This isn't about the empty parking lot you're in, it's about the large building on the other side of the fence.

Built in 1926, this was supposed to be the amusement center of Ohio. Actually, it was. Supposedly the greatest dance floor in the state it became a hot spot for thousands during the 30's, 40's and 50's. The fountain in the middle of the dance floor was a spectacle in it's own right. Big bands including Guy Lombardo, Frank Sinatra, Harry James and others played here regularly. It was also utilized as a major boxing arena and roller skating facility. The Federal Liquor Agents busted it dozens of times and became frustrated when the local owners, who appeared before the local judges, were simply found not guilty or given minor $25 fines. Wonder why? I, as a child, remember skating under the glittering globe lights and around the fountain. The original plan was to add a full sized football stadium, olympic pools and more. Those plans never took place and after battling the Fed's over and over again the owners finally closed it's doors in 1959. For a very short time it housed Bulldog Electric before becoming the company who now inhabits it. The original "Rainbow Gardens", which it was named, is the middle section which looks like a huge airplane hanger.
