Geocache Description:

Off the Bear Creek Greenway on the North end of Blue Heron Park. Look for dirt side trail at the North end of the Riparian Planting Project.

Watch out for bums and other greenway users.

This cache is located at the edge of a riparian planting project that was installed in 2009 by the Bear Creek Watershed Council working through RVCOG and in cooperation with the city of Phoenix.

The goal of the project is to increase shade on the stream in summer to help cool the water for our native salmon and steelhead, stabilize the stream banks to reduce soil erosion and establish native vegetation in an area over run by invasive blackberry.

While looking for the cache you may see a blue heron or maybe even a spawning steelhead. Enjoy
