[ENG]Event is free for everyone to join- you only need to have a GPS, photo camera and access to the internet. FTF prize- new container that has to be placed somewhere in Valmiera within one week after event. Teams are allowed but prize is one.

[ENG]I want to introduce you a feature called scavenger hunt on waymarking.com. This site is developed by Groundspeak and you can use your geocaching username and password for it. Waymarking is new way of registering locationless caches, in other words- you have objects that can be anywhere on the world and you have to find one and jot down coordinates and make picture. Others can visit this location later.
There are lot of categories so you can find your favourite and look for it all over the world or you can try to waymark your surroundings with as many different waymarks as possible. Choice is yours.
What is scavenger hunt?
A scavenger hunt is a game – a personal or shared challenge – to find a collection of waymarks in a particular area. A hunt can range in difficulty from a simple search within a few miles of your starting point, to one that covers an area of almost 200,000 square miles! (More information: (visit link) ).
How the competition will happen?
There will be scavenger hunt published 1 week before event and it will be scheduled to 00:15 on 29th of February. Everyone that are willing to attend will then be able to read rules and join the hunt. Waymarks will be obscured until time comes so don't try to visit waymarks in Valmiera or cheat somehow else before date comes. You are allowed to post new waymarks of course- it will make it more mysterious and harder to guess which locations will have to be visited.
Winners will be announced on Cache 'n' Beer #001 event (visit link) .

To attend this event you have to visit all waymarks on this scavenger hunt. To mark waymark as found you need to:
1) Visit given coordinates of waymark and find an object.
2) Make a photo of your GPS so that you can see date and time on its screen and it would be possible to recognize this place. You can show coordinates on screen. Example: (visit link) . There is exception if you only have GPS with camera but do not have photo camera- take geotagged picture of yourself near object.
3) Log your visit at appropriate waymark and upload pictures. Try to write at least one full sentence.
For teams- if you are more than one geocacher in one car you can make photo of each other but you have to add picture where you or your GPS can bee seen. Pictures like ‘I was photographer’, ‘look at that persons log’ or ‘I was sitting in the car’ are not allowed. There can be more than one geocacher in picture and one picture can be uploaded by more than one geocacher just don’t forget to make photo of photographer.
Those who do not have access to the internet and do not live in Valmiera: it will be possible to upload picures later until the end of week so do not get too worried. Pictures of course have to be taken on 29th of February and according to 2 rule. Also you can use public internet cafes and Valmiera library (free access).

Tās nejaušā kārtībā izvēlēsies dators. Jūsu uzdevums būs apmeklēt visas šīs ceļazīmes, nobildēt tur savu GPS vai sevi un piereģistrēt kā apmeklētas (log your visit). Ātrākajam balva!

Lai piedalītos pasākumā jums ir jāapmeklē visas ceļazīmes šajā sarakstā. Lai ceļazīmi atzīmētu kā apmeklētu jums nepieciešams:
1) Apmeklēt norādīto vietu pēc GPS koordinātām un atrast ceļazīmē minēto objektu.
2) Nobildēt savu GPS šajā vietā tā, lai uz tā ekrāna būtu redzams datums un laiks, kurā bildēts, kā arī būtu saprotams, ka tā ir attiecīgā vieta- varat vienlaikus uzlikt uz ekrāna arī koordinātas. Piemērs: (visit link) . Izņēmums ir, ja jums ir tikai GPS ar iebūvētu kameru, bet nav fotoaparāta- uzņemiet geo-tagotu bildi ar sevi pie attiecīgā objekta.
3) Atzīmējiet savu vizīti pie attiecīgās ceļazīmes un augšupielādējiet bildes. Cenšaties ierakstīt vismaz vienu pilnu teikumu. Varat rakstīt gan angliski gan latviski.
Komandām- ja braucat vienā mašīnā vairāk cilvēki, drīkstat bildēt viens otru, taču katra individuālajam ierakstam ir jāpievieno bilde, kur esat redzams jūs vai jūsu GPS- neder bildes „es biju fotogrāfs” vai arī ieraksti „skatīt tā un tā cilvēka logu” vai „es sēdēju mašīnā” . Bildē protams drīkst būt redzami vairāki cilvēki un vienu bildi var augšupielādēt vairāki cilvēki- galvenais neaizmirstiet nobildēt fotogrāfu.
Tiem, kuriem nav pieeja mobīlajam internetam vai arī kuri nedzīvo Valmieras tuvumā- jūs varēsiet augšupielādēt savas bildes arī līdz nedēļas bildēm (tām protams jābūt uzņemtām 29. februārī un atbilstoši 2. Punktam. Jūs varat izmantot arī publiskās interneta kafejnīcas vai Valmieras bibliotēku (bezmaksas).
