Geocache Description:

You will find this cache at the Depauw University Nature Park. Do not cross the fence near the cliff ledge. It is not on that side of the trail.

This cache is hidden with permission from Depauw University. It is big enough for travel tags, pathtags, and some of the smaller geocoins. We started this one out with an "I Geocoin."

The park is open from sunrise to sunset, and anyone under the age of 13 MUST be accompanied by an adult. NO ROCK CLIMBING. This cache is not for young children who may bolt away from you. Parking coordinates are listed, please do not attempt to access the cache from the road.

Please log ANY DNF's or maintenance needs so that we may tend to them accordingly. We try to check the cache after all DNF's to ensure it hasn't been muggled.

You will find unpredictable terrain levels, and GORGEOUS scenery in this vast park. I recommend bringing a camera if you're into photography, and binoculars if you're into bird watching. I added a trail map and a photo of the area to the gallery :)

The property was the site of an active limestone quarry from 1917 to 1977. Acquired in 2003, the DePauw Nature Park consists of 520 acres of forest, fields, and abandoned limestone quarry. You won't be disappointed if you come here to hike. The park has 10.1 miles of walking trails, a primitive campground, and an outdoor classroom. There are even connecting trails that link the main Depauw campus to the Nature Park.
