A construção da Ponte Aldo Pereira de Andrade foi iniciada em 1929. Com 315 metros de comprimento e 18 metros de altura a ponte que também é conhecida como "Ponte de Ferro" foi construída com material importado da Alemanha.
A ponte operou entre 1954 e 1971, quando foi desativada por decisão do Governo Federal.
Em 1991, ela foi restaurada para receber o tráfego de veículos, ligando o Centro ao bairro Ponta Aguda.

The construction of the Aldo Pereira de Andrade Bridge was started in 1929. With a length of 315 meters and 18 meters high the bridge which is also known as "Iron Bridge" was built with materials imported from Germany.
The bridge was in operation between the years 1954 and 1971, when it was deactivated by orders from the Federal Government.
In 1991, the bridge was repaired and adapted for automobile traffic, connecting downtown Blumenau with the Ponta Aguda neighborhood.
