You need to find some information at the three listed refernce points. Use that to find the next stage at:

Where:
A = Number of letters in First name of the person the trail is named for (Ref #1, Trail Sign)
B = Second digit of 8 dight of serial number for Model 1650 (Ref #3, Lake House Black box on the locked gate)
C = First digit of Station Number plus 1 (Ref #2 Benchmark called Monument M1-1. Needed info shows as "Station ? + 00" on bottom side of benchmark. Its very near a bench. See attached picture.
When you find the next stage it will have the coordinates plus a hint for the final stage
This is a nice location to take a long walk on paved paths. There are nice views from the top of the hill. If you are looking for a quick C&D, this one is not for you. Expect to climb a 90 foot hill (at least once!) and walk more than 1 mile.
You can stay on the path for the easy way up or just head straight up the hill. (not sure which to try--don't worry, you could get another chance!)<
