  RULES OF THE GAME!

RULE #1 - Everyone has fun!
RULE #2 - No one gets hurt!

WHAT TO WEAR!  CRAZY HATS!
Although a standard baseball cap is perfectly acceptible, we encourage people to dig
through their closets, attics, garages, etc & pull out those crazy hats you bought when you
were younger & just couldn't bare to let the wife throw out or put in the yard sale.
Beanies, Berets, Bowlers, Fedoras, Pirate, Cowboy, Military, Hardhat, Helmets,
& Tophats, just to name a few.
The crazier the better! The funnier the better!
Don't take the hats for granted, the CRAZY HATS will play their part in the games.

  HOW TO PLAY!

Everyone plays! Whether you're 8 or 80!
Baseball games are normally 9 innings, 3 outs per innings.
But, each Cacheball game will be 3 innings, with 9 batters per inning.
The idea is to make the games quick, so we can get as many in, as possible,
and give everyone attending plenty of opportunies to play.

GUEST REFEREES!

Each game will have a guest referee. It's not what you think though.
The referee won't be responsible for calling balls & strikes.
  They will "control the chaos"!
To make this game unique, we devised some
fun ways to strive for "controlled chaos".

Here are 3 examples:

"SLOW MOTION"
Refs can yell this out at any point in the game.
If a ball goes in play, the player with the ball & the base runner,
have to start running & throwing in slow motion "Baywatch-style".
Or if it's called on the pitcher, the throw to the plate goes Slo-Mo.

  "SWITCH IT UP"
During anyone's at bat, the ref can shout "SWITCH"
and the batter has to flip flop front right-handed to left-handed or vice versa.
Have you ever watched a "righty" try to swing a bat "leftie"?

  "FLIP THE BASES"
Everyone knows in baseball, softball, etc,
you run counter-clockwise, from 1st to 2nd to 3rd.
But, if the ref yells "FLIP THE BASES"
now 1st becomes 3rd & 3rd becomes 1st.
And the base-running switches to clockwise.
It changes singles in triples & triples into singles.

In Cacheball we also strive for
"Conspicuous Acts of Hilarity".
That could mean anything from stumbling around the bases,
To catching a pop fly with the Crazy Hat you're wearing.
To jumping 3 feet in the air to try & hit a ball thrown over your head.
Anything that envokes laughter among the masses.

  THE FANS!
We realize everyone in attendance may not be able to play,
although we'll try to make sure everyone who wants to, does.
Even if you're only coming to cheer on your friends & family,
you'll be sure to have a great time!

Any drinks leftover from Swagville will be available.
And we plan on having some snacks (cookies, chips, etc).

Last but certainly not least!
A BIG thanks to Alvin Smith at
the Boys & Girls Club
for allowing us to host this event at their ballpark free of charge.
