Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches, mainly Church Micros, which can be done by road in a day. The area covered is rural and is suitable for a cycling trip. We have created a public Bookmark Listing of all our caches on the route and by using the geocaching website map features, you will be able to plan a good circular route. We suggest starting at Mickfield, north of the A1120 from Stonham Aspal and finishing back on the A1120 at Pettaugh, but it can be joined (or left) at any point.

You are looking for a 35mm film canister.

FTF GWPs - Well Done !

Just spotted this WW2 piece of history when laying out some Church Micro caches. On inspection it appeared to be in pretty good order.

In 1940 a network of defences was hastily built all over the British Isles to prevent an anticipated German invasion. The most common of these defences were called “pillboxes”, squat concrete forts that were sited at road junctions, canals and other strategic points.

With the passage of time it is estimated that less than 6,000 of a total of 28,000 pillboxes built still survive. They remain as permanent monuments and a silent tribute to the courage and tenacity of the British people during the dark days of 1940 when Britain stood alone against Nazi Germany.
