Geocache Description:

Lundy Fountain

The Camel Cache series was placed to highlight locations on the campus of Campbell University and to create geocaching opportunities on campus.

This is a multistage cache that will take you to all of the fountains at Campbell University. You will need to use the information on the placard at each fountain to determine the final location of the cache. The coordinates listed are for the first fountain in the series. For simplicity, the fountains are listed by the buildings they are near and what they are commonly called rather than their proper name. This is a full size cache on a busy college campus so use EXTREME stealth when retrieving the cache or it will quickly become a micro! Public Safety is aware of the geocaches on campus and all caches in the Camel Cache series have been approved, so if approached please let them know that you are geocaching. The cache is best attempted on weekends, after 5pm, or anytime on school breaks. Please be careful when replacing the cache so that it does not go too far into its hiding place that the next geocacher cannot retrieve it!

You will need the following information to decode the coordinates of the final location of the cache.

Carter Gym Fountain (posted coordinates): How many stones are there around the fountain with the same dedication engraved on them? Add 4 to this number.
Number of Stones + 4 = A

Marshbanks Fountain (Waypoint #1): How many things did Dr. Clayton love?
Number of Things He Loved = B

Lundy Fountain (Waypoint #2): What is the last number of the year in which the fountain was dedicated?
Last Number = C

Final Cache location is at:
N35° 24.CCC
W78° 44.BCA

Good Luck!
