Geocache Description:

Cache placed for Crombie event on Sunday 13th May. Please do not find before this date. Thank you.

Don't you just love the tale of the quick-thinking little mouse who manages to outwit all the creatures in the wood who would love to eat her for dinner?

This short series is a tribute to that fab story "The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson, who, incidentally, wrote the book for the pupils of the nearby(ish) Auchterhouse Primary School .

On the way you can collect pieces of a mini jigsaw to make your very own gruffalo. Please only take pieces if you intend completing your gruffalo.

Ok… everyone sitting comfortably? Oi!! You at the back – fingers out of your nose….. noooooo – don't wipe them in the hair of the girl in front. Go on, hurry up and get to the toilet or you'll miss the story.

Well done the boys and girls at the front who are sitting nicely, waiting to begin and have just earned a marble each. (Now that last one ALWAYS works – kids just love praise!).

Now we can begin……..

A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood.
A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good.

"Where are you going to, little brown mouse?
Come and have lunch in my underground house."

"It's terribly kind of you, Fox, but no –
I'm going to have lunch with a gruffalo."

A gruffalo? What's a gruffalo?
A gruffalo! Why, didn't you know?
