**4/22/2012 temporary terrain lowering due to bird's nest**

The Interchurch Council Land property (170 acres) is monitored by DNRT and Dartmouth Con Com, and has a single public access point. Look for a narrow path between #53 and #61 Highland Avenue. Two iron posts mark the trailhead, and there is a green sign there with rules and regulations. There is parking for 2-3 cars on the side of the road here during daylight hours only. This cache can NOT be done at night. The path is flanked by a high stonewall on the right and crosses a causeway, with Little Pond on your left and Lake Noquochoke on the right. Seasonal flooding does inhibit passage along portions of the trail. There are several stick bridges in some areas especially in the northeast portion, so you should wear rubber/waterproof boots if you visit in the springtime.
The topography is irregular and has a great variety of geese, swans, ducks and several different bird species. There are large fields, many small ponds, several of them glacial sink holes, good rocks for climbing, and pine woods toward the northeast. The land also has natural wild cranberry bogs and vernal pools. Along the peninsula, there are many great white cedar trees that overlook the water. This reserve makes for excellent birding, pleasant walking, fishing, and a challenge to identify the many plant species. PARKING/TRAILHEAD: N 41° 38.624 W 071° 03.002

**HUNTING is allowed so dress appropriately with Blaze Orange during hunting season.

This cache has been placed with DNRT approval.

The container is a micro in the woods. It should be a relatively easy find. Please exercise caution when hunting for and retrieving this cache. You are responsible for your own safety.

Terrain rating is based on the length of the walk in, the possibility that you might get soaked at certain times of the year and also that in order to retrieve this cache you have a small risk of personal injury far from emergency services. This might be easy terrain for some of you, but there are certainly some geocachers who, by the nature of unique circumstances or conditions, will not be able to sign the log.

Congratulations to cale115, jgmego115 and caseytoo for the FTF!
