Spring has finally arrived and the Beaches need a good spring cleaning.
As part of the Pinellas Coastal Cleanup, we will be offering our help. We will be meeting at the Indian Rocks Park Parking Lot. The posted coordinates are for the meeting point.
Since it will be St Patrick's Day, lets see how many can come dressed in all of their "GREEN" finest.
We will be looking for lots of good geocachers to join us in cleaning up a mile of beach and it's beach access points on Saturday, March 17, 2012.
The posted coordinates are for the parking lot and meeting spot. This parking lot has meters, but on the beach access side streets there is free parking.
We will start gathering at 7:30am near our vehicle for a quick pep talk and cover CITO safety. We then will divide up in small groups and start cleaning.
Please wear closed toed shoes, remember sunscreen as we will be in the sun, and remember to bring water (we will have some with us) to keep hydrated. Dress for the weather! We will have some Rubber Gloves. Garbage Bags will be provided. If you have trash grabbers it would probably be a helpful tool to bring with you and use. The cleanup will last till 10am, and afterwards a day of caching the area seems like a good idea!
Keep posted to this page for further information regarding the exact areas we will be cleaning. We are going to try to assign cachers to go to a designated area and clean up that area only. We will then re-convene back at the starting point for the mandatory weigh-in.
