Placed at Foresters Leisure Park to complement my birthday event at the nearby pub.
This area used to be the site of Normanton Barracks. When I first came to Derby in 1974 I used to pass the area regularly on my way to work.
The Sherwood Foresters vacated the barracks in 1964 and the buildings were demolished in 1982. The area grew into derelict woodland where for some period during the 1980s, local residents walked their dogs and teenagers raced their trial bikes.
As I mentioned in the comments for my birthday event this isn't a very scenic location (unless you are an avid trainspotter) and there is a substantial amount of litter around the general area.
