This is part of the 'Slight Detour' series of caches placed specifically for the Essex Camping Event 2012. Anyone attending the Camping Event 2012 can claim a joint FTF on the caches in this series.
This series is an interesting and varied route in its own right, but if you are walking the ECE (Essex Camping Event 2012) St Peter's Ring, and think the 18 miles may be too far in one go, then this detour gives you more options on the length of walk you could complete.
The footpath continues through another area of trees. Please stick to the path as there is hidden barbed wire on the ground to the side of the path where the fence has long since fallen. The footpath branches on the south side of the bridge and the grass area around the saplings can be boggy. You need to head for the farm track which runs along side the field of horses on the other side of the saplings. There are also chickens here so please keep dogs on a lead through this part of the walk.
Be warned that there is quite often a duck in the water near the bridge who will take off as you get closer. Try not to jump as much as I do every time he does it!
