This is part of the 'Slight Detour' series of caches placed specifically for the Essex Camping Event 2012. Anyone attending the Camping Event 2012 can claim a joint FTF on the caches in this series.
This series is an interesting and varied route in its own right, but if you are walking the ECE (Essex Camping Event 2012) St Peter's Ring, and think the 18 miles may be too far in one go, then this detour gives you more options on the length of walk you could complete.
If you are approaching from the north follow the farm track as it heads south past the houses. You will see a beech hedge ahead and the footpath marker is at the end of the hedge. The route south through the field beyond is clear and mowed through when in crop.
If you are approaching across the fields from the south follow the farm track past the houses and northwards as it heads past the field of horses and down towards the saplings and through to the bridge beyond. The route through the trees is clear from there.
