tandemstoker: Checked on this one today. Although I didn't see any vans the cache has been muggled. The lane has now become a thoroughfare and is no longer as hidden and bucolic as it was when I placed it.

Geocache Description:

If you had been sitting at this spot a few decades ago you would have witnessed logs floating down the Kennebec and perhaps into the pulp mill at Scott Paper across the way. You do not need to cross any railroad tracks to access this cache. Park at the 2 Cent Bridge and look for the trail that parallels the Kennebec.

The smokestack is somewhat of a landmark and can be seen for miles. And although it's not emitting smoke these days it is serving another useful purpose. A cell phone service provider has leased it and placed an antenna inside. So if you are noticing an especially strong signal on your mobile now you know why.

Congratulations to ampmdp for their tenacity in searching for the cache under all that snow and for being FTF!!
