Olofstorp station invigdes den 16 juli 1900 av kung Oskar den II. Dock hade trafiken varit igång sedan den 1 januari då även poststationen öppnade i Olofstorp. Folket i bygden ville att stationen skulle kallas Bergum. Postverket tyckte att namnet Olofstorp var bättre och så fick det bli. (Från boken Bergum -en västgötasocken i en omstridd gränsbygd-) Passa gärna på att besöka museet som ligger i huset,det har öppet alla helgfria lördagar mellan kl 10 och 12 det kostar inget att komma in.
Olofstorp station was opened July 16, 1900 by King Oscar the II. However, the traffic had been running since January 1, then also post office opened in Olofstorp. People of the district wanted the station to be called Bergum. Post Office thought the name Olofstorp was better and it had to be. Nowadays, houses Bergum Folklore Society in the old station house. Take time out to visit the museum that is open on all non-holiday Saturdays between the hours of 10 and 12 it costs nothing to enter.
